Sidney began her career conducting analytical testing in laboratories, which later expanded into Food Safety and Quality Assurance for companies such as Coleman Natural Products, BC Natural Foods, and Double J Meat Packing. Her educational background includes an MS in Continuous Improvement and a BS in Microbiology, with emphasis in Chemistry and Medical Technology.
